We are a family owned construction business operating across the UK who have consistently serviced large blue chip clients for over 40 years. We recognise the clients requirement for a personal and professional service and have consistently delivered across all disciplines.

Firco Limited are an interior & exterior refurbishment specialist and also a main contractor operating throughout the UK. We mainly work for commercial clients on specialist construction and facilities management projects.

The origins of the business date back to 1977 when the Firco Construction was started with a vision far beyond just commercial construction. The company is now owned and managed by the third generation of the family by the Managing Director, James Day from our Head Office in Kent and we operate and deploy staff across the UK. We are able to provide management, installation and refurbishment of all industrial and commercial interiors & exteriors and are experts in all areas and disciplines of related services.

With a rich heritage in this industry, the existing management team have over 50 years combined experience in the industry and we can offer a team of experts who are dedicated to high quality, competitive prices, safety, and strict turnaround times, to enable a complete turnkey project.

We employ skilled apprentice time served tradesmen, many having been employed with us for a considerable number of years, all working to achieve the clients end needs.

Firco being a well-known company Nationally in interior refurbishment and office/industrial fit out and working with many large blue-chip clients, we are constantly trying to improve our commitment to the environmental footprint we leave. Firco really value our corporate social responsibly (CSR) and sustainability, which impact on our relationships with clients, employees, and our supply chain alike. Firco take our CSR commitment seriously and strive to better it each day.

Health & Safety

At Firco we believe health and safety is integral to the safety of our clients and success of the business. We often work in active environments with clients still using nearby spaces and communal areas so making sure we adhere to the RAMS at all points of the project.

Firco have an excellent health and safety record and believe that by constantly updating staff and clients alike on health and safety procedures this will continue long into the future.

Firco are fully compliant with all current safety legislation and CDM regulations and are accredited members of various schemes and governing bodies (documentation can be supplied upon request).

Our health and safety policies are reviewed regularly in line with regulations. The Construction (Design & Management) Regulation (CDM ) 2015 are the main set of regulations for managing the health, safety and welfare of all construction/fit out projects whether domestic or commercial. CDM applies to all building and construction work and includes new build, demolition, refurbishment, extensions, conversions, repairs and maintenance.

Service Offering

Principal Designer – A principal designer is a designer who is an organisation or individual (on smaller projects) appointed by the client to take control of the pre-construction phase of any project involving more than one contractor and to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in the pre-construction phase.

Designer – A designer is an organisation or individual whose work involves preparing or modifying designs for construction projects, or arranging for, or instructing, others to do this. Designers can be architects, consulting engineers and quantity surveyors, or anyone who specifies and alters designs as part of their work. Firco utilise our knowledge base and instruct specialist partners to assist in this part of the process.

Principal Contractor – A principal contractor is the contractor with control over the construction phase of a project involving more than one contractor. They are appointed in writing by the client (commercial or domestic) to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety during this phase.

Contractor – A contractor is anyone who directly employs or engages construction workers or manages construction work. Contractors include sub-contractors, any individual self-employed worker or business that carries out, manages or controls construction work. Firco often take on the role of main contractor direct for the end user but also sub-contract to the main contractor.


Office Interiors

We are specialists in office interiors from the shell of a warehouse or commercial building to fully functional office spaces. We will deliver the walls, floors, ceilings, electrics, lighting, heating, furniture and fittings, cooling and ventilation, as well as the more specialist supplies such as data, compressed air, gases or chilled water.

Washrooms & Kitchens

We are able to deliver commercial kitchens, washrooms and tea points to cater for small, medium and large companies. With the emphasis on the finish being imperative we understand that footfall is greater in a commercial environment so source high quality materials and use specialist installation techniques. These types of projects require a high level of planning to minimise the disruption in the everyday running of the office so we make sure we liaise and co-operate with staff at all times. We can manufacture high quality cubicles and fittings and can design to the clients specific requirements for each project we undertake allowing a more personal touch and bespoke installation.

Partition walls

We specialise in all types of partitioning, including demountable, lightweight aluminium framed, fire rated plasterboard metal stud, sound deadening, fully glazed, half glazed, hardwood framed, powder coated, folding/sliding walls, budget, architectural and bespoke.


Fire protection systems, Alarm systems, Access control systems, CCTV systems and Secure roller shutters.

Suspended ceilings

We can design and install all types of suspended ceilings, including standard lay in systems, concealed systems, metal pan clip in systems, Gyproc MF systems, powder coated metal plank systems, whether you’re looking for a standard suspended ceiling or something special, we can advise you on the latest products and designs to suit your requirements.


We are able to offer, with our own joinery shop facilities, a comprehensive range of standard and bespoke joinery products, including bar fittings, shop fittings, toilet cubicles, vanity units, doors and frames, cupboards, desks, shelving, tea points, and kitchens.

Raised Access Flooring

Firco Limited supply and install new and recycled raised access flooring systems and have worked on project ranging from 20sqm to 9,000sqm. We offer the supply and installation of a wide range of Raised access flooring solutions Nationwide and
offer flexible systems from 35mm to 2000mm void height that will meet the correct MOB PF2 PS/Spu UK performance standards for raised access floors.

Mechanical & Electrical

Many of our commercial refurbishment projects require a wide range of services to be installed throughout the process such as heating, high specification air handling units, temperature control devices, power distribution and lighting. We work tirelessly with our preferred sub-contractors to create a streamlined process in which client satisfaction is at the forefront.


We have years of decorating experience in the commercial sector, we can guide you through a vast array of wall finishes and colours, be it paint finish, vinyl wall coverings or specialist techniques.

Project Management

We offer project management services for the co-ordination of many specialist trades. Our Directors personally design and oversee from inception to completion and come with many years of experience in this field. We integrate our knowledge of trade and site management to make sure you can continue running your business with minimal disruption.

Mezzanine Floors & Engineering

We build raised access floors from initial design to on site installation with the stairs and fire protection all taken care of. We will contract manage any size project to suit your individual requirements.

Hard and Soft Flooring

Firco Limited offer a turnkey solution for all flooring solutions including tiling, vinyl, carpets and wooden flooring and can supply and install Nationwide.

General Building

From initial inception through to completion, we can provide a comprehensive service covering interior demolitions, drainage, new builds, concrete slabs and hard standings, paving, brickwork, pitched and flat roofing, diamond drilling and replacement windows and doors.

Clean Rooms

We are specialist contractors in the design and build of commercial clean rooms, and oversee the design and build of specific controlled environments for companies in the pharmaceutical, research and development and manufacturing industry. Clean rooms are specialist environments where high quality planning from inception to completion is essential. Having worked on many projects of this type over the years we have extensive knowledge and will deliver upon the needs of the specific industry..

Management Team

Our team at Firco is headed up by James Day who is assisted in the daily running of the company by Henry Day with the additional support from the back office team. Our tradesmen are deployed on jobs across the whole of the UK and play a pivotal role in the success of the company going forward.

James Day

Managing Director

James is a highly experienced operator in this field of work and started his career in construction in the mid 1980’s as a Contracts Manager for Firco working for his Father and Grandfather. The family-controlled company has developed and grown over the years and is looking for active expansion under the new management team which includes James and his Son Henry. James oversees the overall day to day management of the company and looks after large projects. When he has the time, James enjoys playing golf.

Henry Day

Operations Director

Henry worked for Firco between school and University on site so gained valuable field experience. Following University, he pursued a career with a property company based in London and managed the Commercial team mainly focusing on alternative and marine based assets. After 8 years in London, he has returned to the family business and now oversees Operations across the main company whilst also managing the day to day running of the Firco Investment Company which holds a number of different properties in varying asset classes. Henry enjoys watching rugby and playing golf and is a supporter and sponsor of his local rugby club.

Joseph Gilbert

Contracts Manager

Joe started his career with Firco in 2008 as an apprentice and has gained a wealth of knowledge over the years, working on a variety of complex refurbishment projects in challenging environments. This has helped him progress his career and he is now Contracts Manager and responsible for ensuring the continued growth of the company alongside James and Henry. Outside of work Joe likes to spend time with his young family and has also taken a keen interest in Golf.
